Renting Toilets for Weddings

Need to rent a portable restroom for your outdoor wedding? We have the information you’re looking for related to renting toilets for weddings. Use this quick guide when talking to a portable toilet supplier to figure out what you’ll need for your big day:

Budget or Luxury?

What’s more important in your rental – value or the wow-factor? Both regular porta potties and luxury restroom trailers can be rented for a wedding. Brides and grooms-to-be on a budget will appreciate the value that standard porta potties offer when renting toilets for weddings. These standalone bathrooms can be rented in any quantity desired to serve everything from micro weddings to huge events. However, those with more generous budgets will likely opt for luxury restrooms. Bathroom trailers provide restroom options for guests that mimic traditional indoor facilities. These heated and cooled trailers have interior and exterior lighting, making them a versatile option for year-round weddings. They also have fancy details like wooden cabinetry, faux art, and full-sized mirrors. Functionally, they also provide benefits that standard porta potties do not, like flushing toilets and running hot and cold water.

Once you know which kind of rental toilets you want, it’s time to start thinking about how many you’ll need.

Maximum Attendees

Whether you want to rent porta potties or luxury portable toilets, figure out how many you’ll need based on how many guests will be at your wedding. Depending on what the lead time is on your wedding, you may have to book a portable restroom service before you have your RSVPs back. Not everyone will RSVP yes, so you’ll have to estimate how many people you expect to be in attendance. To be safe, you may want to add 10-20% to your estimate to ensure you have enough bathrooms rented.

Portable toilets and luxury portable restrooms can be rented in combination or independently of each other. As a general rule of thumb, one portable toilet can accommodate 50 guests for a 3-hour period. Obviously though, when a unit is in use, no one else can use it. So, it pays to have an extra unit or two to reduce lines. With luxury restrooms, each unit will have a maximum attendee capacity. For instance, the 6-stall “Chalet” trailer serves a maximum of 500 attendees for an 8-10 hour event.

Event Duration

The longer your wedding event is, the more restrooms you’ll need to hold the… um… byproducts of your festivities. The most common mistake people make is assuming that the length of their reception is the “length of their event.” Keep in mind that people will likely use the restroom before and even after your reception. And don’t forget your wedding ceremony when calculating the duration of your event either! For example, if you have a 3pm wedding and a reception from 5-9pm at the same outdoor venue, you’ll need to count on having the bathroom units from 2pm-10pm – making it an 8-hour event. For longer events, luxury restroom trailers are a better option because waste is flushed down, so it is not visible to guests as holding tanks begin to fill up. This is a far nicer look for a formal event like a wedding.

Add-On Rentals

Will you need to rent any add-ons? Hand washing stations, hand sanitizer stations, and ADA accessible portable toilets can supplement your rentals, offering more ways for guests to have their sanitary needs met at your wedding. Ask about what else you need to keep your guests clean and happy!
