Five Factors To Consider Before Renting A Portable Restroom

Planning events can be stressful for many reasons; from finding the right venue to selecting a caterer your guests will love. In this blog, we cover the top five factors to consider when ordering portable restrooms.

Headcount

Knowing how many people will be in attendance is essential. Once you know how many people to expect, you can start planning and deciding how many units you need.

If your event includes an RSVP or the attendance number could vary, provide the supplier with the total number of guests invited or an estimate so you can ensure you’ll have enough bathrooms for everyone. 

If it is a public event and the total number of people is difficult to determine, use past attendance numbers to help you narrow your estimate. Sometimes, adding a 10% buffer will help ensure there are enough bathrooms. For first-time events,  overestimate to be on the safe side. Remember, you can never have too many portable bathrooms, but you can definitely have too few!

Date

Another critical step is deciding on a date for your event. It’s always best to pick a preferred date and a backup date when checking vendor availability. Consider any holidays or local events around the date and check with attendees to ensure there are no conflicts when setting the date. 

Duration

Know how long your event will be. For extended events, portable restrooms may need to be serviced. This includes emptying waste tanks and refilling supplies like toilet paper and hand sanitizer to keep units ready for continued use. Many assume that portable restroom service is only needed for multi-day events like a weekend music festival. However, day-long events or events with fewer units may also need this maintenance. Talk with your portable restroom provider and ask them to make a recommendation for your event.

Location

Figuring out where your event will be held is vital to securing a portable restroom supplier. Some companies only serve certain states, counties, or metropolitan areas.
