Luxury Portable Restroom Spotlight – The Fortress 10 Stall Trailer

If you’re planning a large event, look no further than the high capacity Fortress 10 Stall Trailer for your restroom needs! Here at Kerkstra we have a variety of luxury restroom trailers available to service events of all kinds across the state, but the Fortress is our biggest and best option for those larger functions. Find out why we like to boast about this restroom trailer!

Details

Like the name would imply, the Fortress 10 stall trailer allows 10 people to use the restroom simultaneously, cutting down on the lines and reducing wait time for guests. The separate men’s and women’s sections provide three urinals and two private stalls for the men, as well as five private stalls for the women all with flushing toilets. Each section offers two shared sinks with running hot and cold water. But the Fortress’s amenities don’t end there; it also has the option to be air conditioned or heated to provide comfortable use in any season, and low level exterior lighting for use after dark. The 900 gallon waste tank can serve 1,000 guests for an 8-10 hour event, making it a must-have for a wide array of events and one of our most popular luxury portable toilets!

Uses

The standard garden hose hook-up and 20-amp outlet power source allow the Fortress 10 Stall trailer to be used almost anywhere. It’s a popular choice for outdoor concerts, fairs, festivals, and many of the other community events that make Michigan such a great place to live. In fact, you may have actually seen the Fortress luxury portable restroom at an event you’ve attended before and not even realized it.

Oops! Moments – How to Avoid Common Wedding Planning Mistakes

Wedding planning is not an easy task! There are a million little details that are easy to overlook if you’re not organized enough. This is one reason why people choose to use wedding planners and ask family members for help when it comes to planning their big day. So if you’re in the throes of planning your wedding (or helping someone who is), be sure you don’t make these common wedding mistakes, or you might end up with some embarrassing mishaps that’ll be retold by your friends and family for years to come!

Forgoing the Rehearsal

You’re going to walk down the aisle and say “I do.” That’s not hard, right? Wrong. Couples that choose to forgo the wedding rehearsal often end up regretting it because it can leave their wedding ceremony looking haphazard and silly. From coordinating who will be where and when to hammering out the schedule of events during the ceremony, a wedding rehearsal ensures everyone will be on the same page. You shouldn’t be running around giving people directions on the day of the wedding, and you certainly don’t want to forget anything important like having your grandmother escorted down the aisle or incorporating a song or reading by a close family friend.

Forgetting to Leave Time for Pictures

After the ceremony and before heading to the reception, many couples choose to have photos taken to capture their first moments as a married couple. These photos provide important keepsakes later on that aren’t marred by what may come next at the reception (namely food stains, sweaty hair, and lipstick stains from Aunt Millie). But many couples assume that these photos won’t take very long, and simply budget 20 or 30 minutes to snap some pictures before they head to the fun reception waiting for them. This is a mistake because inevitably the photographers end up having to rush through photographing these key moments or the couple winds up being late to their own reception – leaving guests impatiently waiting. Always ask your photographer how long they want budgeted for this picture session and respect that they will know best. Also, keep in mind that if you’re planning any family portraits during this time, you will have to allow even longer to get everyone together and photo-ready!

Skipping the Meal

Some couples choose to simply offer appetizers instead of a full meal to cut back on costs. This is fine, but if you don’t plan on offering a full meal, make sure that you offer heavier appetizers to keep guests happy. Nothing can ruin a wedding faster than hangry guests!

If you plan on providing an open bar, you should really include a full a meal also to keep guests from getting too inebriated. When opting for appetizers in lieu of a meal, it’s often better to accompany it with a cash bar to keep guests from overindulging and ruining your big day. If you simply must have an open bar and don’t plan on providing much food, politely let guests know in the invitation so that they can plan to eat ahead of time.

Not Having Enough Bathrooms

Long lines for the bathroom will make guests frustrated and disappointed with your event no matter how great everything else about the wedding and reception was. Simply put, people don’t want to get dressed up to go somewhere where they will just end up waiting in line for the bathroom! So when booking your venue, always ask about the restroom situation – How many are there? Where are they located? Can you opt for additional bathrooms? Ensure that there will be enough bathrooms for your guests and that they won’t be too far away. Outdoor venues will frequently let you supplement whatever they offer with luxury luxury restroom trailers to keep your guests satisfied. This gives you the opportunity to provide fancy luxury restrooms for your guests close to the site of your event and minimize waiting, which is a win-win for any wedding!

Planning Too Many “Mandatory” Events

Having too many events that guests are supposed to be in attendance for (like a father-daughter dance, mother-son dance, the garter, tossing the bouquet, the speeches and toasts, cake cutting, etc.) is a drag because they prevent guests from socializing and having fun. Too many of these types of things can make your reception feel boring and drawn out. (It also makes people feel awkward if they have to get up during these times to use the restroom, take a call, deal with a fussy child, and so on.) So to avoid your making your reception boring, keep these wedding reception “must-haves” to a minimum by including only what’s actually important to you. Don’t feel like you need to include things just because everyone else does them. Your guests will thank you for it!

Forgetting to Say Thank You

Keep in mind that your guests took time out of their busy lives to be a part of your big day. They likely also brought gifts, and many may have had to travel to be there. This means that you owe them a thank you big time! Going around to each table during the reception (or making your rounds from group to group at a reception where there isn’t a sit-down meal) is a nice touch to ensure that you spend a bit of time with everyone in attendance.

After the wedding, be sure to send a thank you note as well. Many people prefer hand-written thank you cards mailed to them, but if you’re trying to save money, a phone call or email can suffice as well. Just be sure to recognize that having your guests at your wedding was part of what made the day so special and unforgettable!

Why Rent a Restroom Trailer When a Standard Porta Potty Will Do?

So your planning an event and looking at your portable restroom options. You see porta potties for rent and also luxury portable toilets available – which should you choose? You think to yourself, “Well, standard portable toilets are cheaper, so why would I want to go with luxury restroom trailers instead?” Here’s the low down on why so many people opt for a bathroom trailer:

Overall Look

When considering the aesthetics of both bathroom options, luxury portable toilets are definitely the better-looking option. This is why they are preferred for weddings, black tie events, and other fancy occasions. If you need something that will make guests feel like they’re at a nice hotel or restaurant, luxury restroom trailers are definitely the way to go! They have stylish décor like wooden cabinetry, large mirrors, faux plants, accent rugs, and framed artwork to complete their look

Basic Functionality

Standard portable toilets usually come equipped with hand sanitizer pumps inside, and some portable toilet suppliers may also offer handwashing stations to keep your event sanitary, but neither of those options compares to an actual dedicated sink with running hot and cold water inside a restroom trailer for use right after going to the bathroom. This is another reason why people really like bathroom trailers for their events.

A luxury portable restroom also offers the added functionality of flushing toilets. While some portable toilet units offer this, a trailer will have a much higher capacity, allowing them to be used by more people for longer periods of time before needing to be emptied.

Lastly, restroom trailers have climate controlled environments, which is something that no portable toilet can tout. This is important all year long because events that take place during the summer may cause traditional units to heat up to dangerous temperatures, and events that take place during the fall/winter or at night may leave units too cold for comfortable usage.

Versatility

Luxury restrooms are more spacious, which means that they offer a place for guests to change and get ready for whatever event you’re planning. This is a great feature for weddings, where the wedding party needs to be able to get dressed for the big day and community events like marathons where participants may need to get changed and cleaned up afterwards.

The Top 5 Must-Haves for Any Event

We service a lot of different types of events here at Kerkstra, but one thing that we’ve noticed is that a lot of the most successful events share a few of the same qualities. Whether it’s an annual community marathon, music festival, employee appreciation event, or even a seasonal clam bake the best events follow the same script. If you want your upcoming event to be a smash success, you need to nail down these 5 must-haves for any event:

  1. A Location with “The Wow Factor”
  2. A location can make or break an event (and sometimes a location is the very cause for the event). When selecting the right location for your event, consider the amenities offered and ensure that they fit the overall objective for your event. Now, there may be times when the location is basically chosen for you. For instance, if you’re planning a sporting event, you may not have too many options to host your game or race; but if you’re planning a seasonal or corporate event you’ll have a lot more locations to choose from. Ensure that the location you book has enough space for all of your guests, favorable hosting policies if you plan on bringing in entertainment, plenty of luxury restrooms to accommodate everyone, and enough of a draw to entice people to attend.

In West Michigan, some of the most popular event locations include:

    • Scenic lakeshore areas
    • Breweries and vineyards
    • Botanical gardens and art parks
    • Colleges and Universities
    • Parks and nature preserves
    • Farms and rural settings

Hopefully those provide you with some inspiration for your event!

  3. A Great Guest List
  4. The guest list is essential when it comes to shaping an event and, therefore, is crucial to it being successful. Inviting the right people ensures that your event will be filled with the right audience for whatever you’re hosting. Send invites to anyone who needs to be in attendance as well as anyone who may contribute to the success of the event. For instance, for non-profit organizations this means inviting the founders, current contributors, and other interested supporters who may contribute in the future. For community events and other functions where guests are not invited individually, the more the merrier! Invite people to come out and get location news and radio stations to hype your event for maximum exposure.

  5. The Right Entertainment
  6. The right entertainment for your event can vary from a live band to a clown or caricaturist to a giant outdoor movie screen. Ensure that whoever (or whatever) you bring to your event to entertain your guests is appropriate for your demographic. Nothing ruins an event faster than having entertainment that doesn’t appeal to your audience. Encourage people to stick around by properly spacing out the timing of different entertainment offerings and give people a variety of options to choose from to ensure there will be something fun for everyone.

  7. Ways to Capture the Memories
  8. Having a professional photographer capture your event or offering a photo booth is a great way to allow guests to remember the fun they had at your event. You can also encourage guests to share pictures and memories on social media with a dedicated page or hashtag so that people can appreciate others’ memories as well. However you decide to it, helping guests to capture memories of the event gives them a palpable way to hold onto the fun that they had, which is key to hosting a great event.

  9. Staying Power
  10. For annual or recurring functions, you’ll want your event to have staying power. This means getting guests excited about the next occurrence of your event. Tease them with what your planning for next year (or better yet, allow them to contribute ideas for next year’s event). For paid events, offer discounts or gifts if they purchase tickets for next year in advance. Encourage guests to rate your event on specific topics and then use the feedback you got from this year’s event to make next year even better!
